Title treatment and branding for Sesame Street's refugee outreach, Welcome Sesame.
The goal is to reach displaced kids and caretakers coming from a traumatic journey, and give them a nice gentle hug that lets them know they belong and are “welcome”. Even when fleeing dangerous situations, a kid just wants to be a kid, and be somewhere that understands the fact they want to play, belong, explore and be inspired. And caretakers want to trust and feel joy for a moment, despite carrying the weight of fleeing and starting over.
Created title treatments for Welcome Sesame in 12 languages, and the initiative is now "reaching children across five continents, from East Africa to Latin America and beyond through a combination of mass media and direct services, as well as research and advocacy."
